With more than 140 magazine covers and a growing number of awards, Sean Davey is one of the top ocean, surf, and sea life photographers in the world.<\/p>\n

Growing up on the island of Tasmania, Australia and calling Oahu, Hawaii home for more than a decade, it is rare time that he hasn\u2019t been in or near the ocean waves during his more than 30-year career as a professional photographer.<\/p>\n

That\u2019s a lot of time on, in, and under the water. When he\u2019s not in the water, he\u2019s often leading adventure photography excursions, or he\u2019s perfecting his craft. While Sean was one of the first pros to start shooting digital photography, he also has decades of darkroom experience. Sean brings the finesse and detail learned in the darkroom together with his natural talents and digital tools available today to create stunning imagery you won’t find anywhere else.<\/p>\n

His work flows from these two mottos: “Shoot Different” and “Seek The Light.”<\/p>\n

“I\u2019ve always been attracted to the road less traveled with where I go and in what I do. I even apply this thought when I\u2019m on the beach at Pipeline with 30 other photographers. When I was shooting for the magazines, I knew it was always going to be the different images that the magazine editors would zero in on, especially when looking at the same moment from a dozen different photographers. So, this has always been a strong motto for me to shoot by for various reasons.” – Shoot Different<\/strong><\/p>\n

“I\u2019ve always been drawn to unusually bright and hard light, partially influenced by the work of Australian; Max Dupain and American; Pete Turner. I spent a whole magazine career not liking clouds very much at all, whereas these days, I embrace them in my photography.” –Seek The Light<\/strong><\/p>\n
