{"id":4486,"date":"2017-04-10T17:01:02","date_gmt":"2017-04-10T21:01:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.magicmurals.com\/blog\/?p=4486"},"modified":"2021-02-11T18:58:29","modified_gmt":"2021-02-11T23:58:29","slug":"residential-galleryherons-in-the-hallway","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.magicmurals.com\/blog\/residential-galleryherons-in-the-hallway\/","title":{"rendered":"Herons in the Hallway"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Narrow hallways pose a very vexing design problem. \u00a0They, literally, serve as transitions from one room to another, yet leave little room for making a figurative transition from one space to another.<\/p>\n<p>Even the narrowest tables will get bumped into and, likely, turn into unsightly landings for piled-up mail, car keys, and any other little thing no one feels like putting away in its proper space. \u00a0A wall of framed family photos looks great in a long hall, until the kids are running through and they come crashing to the ground.<\/p>\n<p>[Customer Name] of [City, State] solved her design dilemma with a wallpaper wall mural spanning the length of the hallway and running from the ceiling down to the chair rail. \u00a0The mural she chose, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.magicmurals.com\/herons-and-egrets.html\">Herons and Egrets<\/a> (from artist Walter A. Weber and licensed through the National Geographic Society), has all of her favorite shades of blue and serves as a great introduction to her country kitchen from the foyer. \u00a0There was, however, one issue with the original image&#8230; the birds were flying the wrong way. \u00a0Instead of leading to the kitchen, they were leading to the foyer&#8230; almost as if they were ushering guests out of the house. \u00a0The problem was easily solved by printing the mural as a mirror image. \u00a0The birds are now happily headed north rather than south.<\/p>\n<!--themify_builder_content-->\n<div id=\"themify_builder_content-4486\" data-postid=\"4486\" class=\"themify_builder_content themify_builder_content-4486 themify_builder tf_clear\">\n    <\/div>\n<!--\/themify_builder_content-->\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Narrow hallways pose a very vexing design problem. \u00a0They, literally, serve as transitions from one room to another, yet leave little room for making a figurative transition from one space to another.
