About John Peer"While the theme of my work is obviously marine in subject, the influence of color and the simplicity of composition is apparent. I essentially seek to find a poetic balance using all the visual elements possible within a given circumstance. With this balance, along with the quality of light, I attempt to express a closeness to the subject that defines its intrinsic visibility."
Born in McCall Idaho, John Peer grew up in the Willamette Valley in Oregon; spent 22 years in various locations in California & Nevada returned to the Northwest in 1988. After 15 years in Port Townsend, Washington he and his wife took up a full time RV lifestyle traveling the nation and participating in the major art festivals.
