About Ken Hurd

Trained as a graphic designer, Ken Hurd produced work for Raleigh Bikes, Peugeot Cars and Cadbury's and other large companies based in the UK where he lives. When he was chosen to be included in the then prestigious Adobe UK art calendar in 1999 he decided to finish work to study fine art and printmaking. After graduating with a BA, he now spends his time traveling around the English coast sketching and painting and working in his studio (the garden shed) producing his highly personal mixed media projects.

Ken Hurd's Artist Statement
"Inspiration for my work stems from my interest in nature, wind, weather and the effects of light and seasonal changes. The trick is to stay out and absorb the color, light, space and mood. I also revel in using many different techniques: watercolor, pastel chalks, line and wash, charcoal as well as modern methods such as using a graphics tablet and my much loved AppleMac. I'm always looking for new ways to express my ideas".
