About Drake Fleege

Throughout this earthly globe, nature exhibits its beauty and splendor in many unique ways. From distant exotic lands to backyard habitats, there are abundant opportunities to enjoy this "spaceship earth" we all share. Like many before him, Drake Fleege's photographic goal is to help "give a voice" to the land and its inhabitants, (quoting a John Denver lyric) in his own small way.

For years, Drake captured the surrounding environment with 35mm slide and print media. While driving many miles during a sales career, he often visualized photographic opportunities. Unfortunately, due to schedules, Drake was unable to take the time to convert the visualized image to film. With a conservation degree in the 70's, his interest in the natural environment never waned. On Friday, October 13, 2006, he took an early retirement from Motorola to pursue this photographic passion full time.

As a published landscape nature photographer, Drake captures images primarily of lakes and rivers, landscapes and scenics, trees and wildflowers. Ancillary additional images, including birds and mammals, round out his portfolio.

Much of his work is Wisconsin flavored, supplemented with western national parks and northern Florida. In addition to photography, Drake is also a periodic contributor to the web magazine Pro Nature Photographer.
