About Catherine Huerta

Catherine Huerta was born in Tucson, Arizona and grew up in Window Rock on the Navajo Indian Reservation. She is a member of the Pasqua Yaqui Tribe. After graduating from Arizona State University, she attended Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California.

Huerta worked in New York as a freelance illustrator for 15 years and developed a realistic painting style for images of nature, adventure and sci-fi fantasy.

In 1995 she moved to France and has been working as a freelance illustrator for clients in Europe and the USA. Most recently she has been working with the French Postal Service creating postage stamps and collectibles.

For France, Catherine Huerta created four postage stamps for the Beijing Olympics.
