About Brian StonemanArtist's Statement:
Brian Stoneman explores the visual world, uniquely dissecting it with his lens and imagination to create thoughtful, artistic works that are both peaceful and moving. "Photography for me is treasure hunting. I search through the regular bits of our visual world to steal out gold and to be honest, most times, I feel as though I am getting away with something. I have always been infected with creative urges; the fulfillment of the creative process connects me intimately to places, people and things that I am fortunate enough to capture. The simple joy in trapping a moment, the point just before I know it's all coming together is exhilarating and rare. To be able to share this with the people around me through my art is truly a gift. It's watching, examining and patiently waiting until it happens, the instant where creativity, luck and light collide."
Art Education - No formal training, 20+ years of hands on photography experience.
Early Inspiration - Left to my own devices growing up in the woods of Northern Ontario, Canada I have developed a natural curiosity about the world around me. This has lead to a life time of looking at the visual world in a particular way, setting it apart and reassembling it visually through photographic arts.
Significant Purchases - Newcomer to the professional domain, modest private sale as well as sales to Pearson Publishing.
